Are you tired keeping up with the next diet break through? No doubt there many solutions available that help you to melt fat, including South Beach Diet, Atkin Diet, Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher etc. However, most diet plan requires that you restrict certain foods or calories intake. For example, you have to understand the food points system in order to lose weight with Weight Watcher. As a result, you may be overwhelmed by the diet rules (the do’s and don’ts) and advice. If you fall into this category, you may be delighted to learn about the new No S diet.

As a sucker for weight loss plan, I’ve never seen a simpler plan than the No S diet. There are only three rules to follow:

  • No snacks between meals. You can eat anything at meal time although your serving is limited to a plate.
  • No Seconds: as mentioned, you are only allowed one plate of foods during meal time. You cannot go back for more.
  • No sweets: no sugar, soda and “syrup” juice drink.

Nonetheless, you are allowed some S (Sunday, Saturday and selected special day). The special days include national day, religious celebration and your friends or family’s birthday party. On these “S” days, you are allowed to relax the rules, just don’t go overboard.

Many people have tried the No S diet and insist that it works. The diet plan does promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle. However, an issue I have with the diet plan is its rule against snacks. Granted, not all snacks are fattening and unhealthy. You should be eating healthy snacks (e.g. fruits, nuts, almond, and seeds) between meals. Health snacks help to control your binge, provide extra energy and nutrients.

I am convinced that No S diet is a sound diet plan. It seems more like a lifestyle than weight loss program. You certainly will lose weight with No S diet but it may be slow. Don’t expect miracle.
