In addition, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Iron, L-Theanine, and calcium are vitamins (and minerals) that work better and more effectively while the body is asleep. Finally, fat-soluble vitamins should be taken after eating, which makes after-dinner an ideal time to take those vitamins. These vitamins include Vitamins A, D, E, and K. Taking them on an empty stomach is not advised, as it can significantly diminish their effectiveness.

Are there any vitamins you should not take at night?

Taking all vitamins at night is not advisable due to their effects. B complex vitamins release energy slowly over a few hours. If you take any type of the eight vitamin supplements at night, you will struggle to fall asleep. Instead, taking B vitamins early in the morning on an empty stomach is better.

Ultimately, as long as you are reaping the benefits of taking daily vitamins, you will be fine. As the saying goes – because you’re getting nutrients from food during the day, taking your vitamins at night gives your body nutrients while you sleep. Stay away from taking the ones that provide energy at night if you want a good night’s sleep.
